Today in media we were learning about the different camera shots, what the course will require of us and also camera movement.
When Sir started talking about the different camera shots i was thinking i know the basics 'Close Up', 'Long Shot', 'Medium Close Up', and 'Extreme Close Up'. But he mentioned all the others i was amazed at how many there are and what they are used for. He also explain where these shots would mostly be done. For example, the 'Extreme Close Up' would be for like a western, when two people are about to fight in the middle of town. The camera shot that i think i was most shocked by was the 'Noddy Shot' this is because i have never heard about this shot in my life. But the shot acturally means when someone is reacting and listening to a subjust.
When Sir talked about what would the course require i thought it would be a lot more paperwork based, turns out its more hands on and i like doing stuff like that it makes me more involved. I was more happy when it said that the coursework was worth 50% this is because is don't mind coursework it is something i can do to make my grades higher so i will be looking forward to that part of the course.
The final thing Sir mentioned was 'Camera Movement' this is how people move the camera throughout different scenes, i was quite shocked by how many different ways there were to move a camera and that somethings are done on something called 'Track' this is when you move the camera on a meachine of some sort to make sure that the camera stays in a perfect line.
I am looking forward to learning all different skills during this year and hopefully will enjoy the subject too. :)
