Media Studies: Task 3:

Media Studies: Task 3:

When looking at this image the first thing I can see is that it is meant to scare people, but not enough to not make them watch the film, just enough to make the film see like it is worth watching. This is a Mid shot this is because it shows the people sat in the middle but it also shows the background and this adds to the tension that the movie poster is trying to build. For this image you could use the Rule of Thirds this is because it is using the main image which is the people cradling each other as if their lives depended on it. This shot doesn’t really show the peoples reaction, but this just adds to the tension because they could be happy or they could be scared. But by looking at their body positions you can see that they are scared and also like they have been running from something which is making them fear and become scared.

From this image I can see that it is a Close-Up this is because it is mostly based on the people in the middle and their reactions to what they seem to be hearing or being told. This image is really clear at it shows the peoples emotional wellbeing. The meaning of this still image is to make the people feel like something shocking has just been discovered, and because the image is just focused on them, it makes this more or a personal shot and makes it effect people more often than it should because it makes it feel like is happening to them too.

The focus of this image is that these three people have just entered a house, and they look intrigued. Because it might seem different from other houses that they might have seen. The colour it looks plan, suggesting that someone older chose this colour, it adds to this thriller because you don’t know who lives there. When looking through the door its like the house is in the middle of no where and this links to the genre thriller because it is mysterious because you want to know why it is there. When you look at the three people its like they are looking out for each other. The camera shot is a Mid Shot this is because it shows the peoples face expressions and shows how they are reacting to entering this house.

When I look at this image I can see that it is a Close-Up how I know this is because it is just focussing on the peoples faces. By the way then are looking at something fully might suggest that they have just heard some news which they didn’t want to hear also that they might be listening out for something instead. By the way the little girl is holding the man this would suggest that this is his daughter and either her mother has passed away or that she is just not there at this moment in the film. This image seems clear which makes you think that this film was made in the last few years, and because of the way their faces are looking up suggests that they are looking at a bulleting board or a TV.

When I look at this image I see that it is a Close-Up this is because it is showing the peoples reactions and how they are coping with the situation. When you look at the background it looks like it might be a basement this is because it looks quite run down and like someone hasn’t put a lot of love to the room. By the way they are holding the little girl suggests that her dad has died and that they have been given the responsibility of looking after her. Because they don’t look happy this might suggest that they think this is the end and that they don’t think they are going to overcome this problem. But what ever happens they die as a family.
